Ray Amaebi-Okoro is a seasoned investment, pensions, insurance, and financial services professional with over 35 years of international experience spanning Canada and Nigeria.
After relocating to Canada in 1981, he pursued studies in Accounting and Financial Management at Algonquin College, Ottawa, following earlier aviation training that earned him Commercial Pilot, Multi-Engine, and Flying Instructor ratings. He subsequently built a successful career in the Canadian financial services industry, receiving professional training through the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning (CIFP) and the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI), where he earned qualifications in financial planning, retirement planning, wealth management, and investment management, including the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation.
Mr. Amaebi-Okoro began his financial services career with Primerica Financial Services and later joined GP Capital Inc., where he managed the Ottawa office and advised individuals, professionals, business owners, and institutions on investments, retirement planning, insurance, employee benefits, and wealth preservation strategies. He has also been affiliated with the Pension Research Council of the University of Pennsylvania, one of the world’s leading pension research institutions.
Since returning to Nigeria in 2004, he has developed extensive relationships across government, financial institutions, corporate organizations, and the private sector, leveraging his international experience to support investment promotion, capital mobilization, and business development initiatives.
